Leiho dedicates 5% of proceeds of every pair of socks towards funding their charity partnerships and projects that empower vulnerable families, refugees, women in need, and young people - helping socio-economically disadvantaged individuals build confidence, gain experience in work, and develop essential skills for a brighter future.
Joey Li & Thuta Khin founded Leiho in 2019. They met while studying for their Masters degrees in London, during this time they became increasingly aware of the structural inequalities affecting struggling individuals. Whilst researching and trying to figure out ways to help, they met a gentlemen who was once homeless and he shared that “clean socks were among the most requested items in homeless shelters. It’s the simple things that make a big difference. From being able to brush your teeth in the morning, put on a clean pair of socks and pants. That sets you up for a more positive day.”
That insight sparked action Leiho was born with a simple mission: to sell socks that give back, using a buy one give one model to support people experiencing homelessness.
Following the pandemic, the brand evolved from its original buy one give one model into a broader, more sustainable impact strategy. Leiho now dedicates 5% of monthly revenue to fund community projects and partnerships. Making people feel a sense of belonging and part of a community. From working with Islington Council to employ individuals in making Leiho’s festive bestselling Christmas sock crackers, to hosting wellbeing days for charities, the brand doubled down on purpose-driven growth.
By choosing to give back through your everyday basics, we can collectively support those in need and help shape a brighter, more compassionate world.
