Ben & Louise founded Bouclé in 2019 as initially a side project alongside their work as freelance designers - it soon transferred into their main occupation. They were drawn to working more slowly and intentionally - creating products that are not only beautiful to use, but made with care for both people and the environment. Much of this came from their experience working within the design industry, where they had witnessed first-hand how fast-paced and wasteful production could be.
All Bouclé products are blended, poured, and packed by Ben & Louise in their studio, using 100% natural essential oils and carefully sourced ingredients. Working in small batches allows them to stay close to every stage of the process - from initial scent development through to pouring, finishing, and packing each product by hand. They use plant-based waxes and carefully selected oils, alongside packaging designed to be as low-impact and long-lasting as possible - favouring reusable glass and considered materials over disposable alternatives.
